A native of New Braunfels, Texas, Attorney Gonzales completed
her Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science in 1979 at the University
of Texas at Arlington. With plans to begin a civil service career Attorney
Gonzales joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a federal government
agency. At the same time she furthered her studies in government administration
obtaining a Master’s of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration
in Public Administration.
With the support of her supervisor, an attorney at EPA,
Attorney Gonzales entered The University of Texas Law School and graduated
in 1984. In 1984 she began clerking for a prominent downtown AV rated
immigration law firm and became an associate in 1985 when she received
her license to practice law in the State of Texas. In 1990 the firm dissolved
and Attorney Gonzales established her firm and continues to limit her
practice to immigration.
She has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since
1985. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
(AILA) since 1986. She has previously held memberships in the College
of the State Bar, American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association and
Mexican American Bar Association as well as the Better Business Bureau.
Mindful that her firm has been blessed in many ways, Attorney
Gonzales’ practice philosophy is based on two faith-based principles:
“To whom much is given, from him much will be required”. “Never tire of
doing good.” www.gospel.com.
Immigration is about helping people. It’s not just about filling out forms.
It’s about making sure that the federal government connects a face with
a form and exercises its authority in granting the benefits sought by
our clients.
Attorney Gonzales is married to Ramon Gonzales.
